Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the
Rotary E-Club of One World!

In the spirit of Rotary which binds us together to serve above self for the betterment of humanity and the world, let us share the Rotary Four Way Test of the Things we think, say or do; for which in District 5240 (D5240), a fifth has been added:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concern?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concern?
  5. Is it FUN?

All too soon the New Year fever is waning and we are in February, 2019. February is a very special month in the Rotary International calendar. It is designated as Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution Month, but used to be the World Understanding Month. The month of February also includes the anniversary of the first ever meeting of Rotary, held on February 23, 1905 and now designated as the World Understanding and Peace Day.

The Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution Month is a chance for every club to pause, plan and promote the Fourth Avenue of Service which is Rotary’s continued quest for goodwill, peace and understanding among people of the world.

Many clubs, including our own and their representatives and partners, are already participating in activities that promote world understanding through humanitarian service in support of a variety of much needed international projects.

Please consider what our club can do more to promote more World Understanding in our Rotary World. We are lucky to be a club with membership and affiliates across the world in all six continents.

Those of us in Ghana are thinking of how to have a repeat of last year’s “Day out with the Disable Kids,”  As a club, I know we have considered to participate in the RYLA Program. Our club is also involved in and supports international projects in various parts of the world with our partners and our district’s matching grants program.

This is the month to expand our club’s “World Understanding” as a way to embrace the broad mission of Rotary with “Be The Inspiration.”

Next week we will come up with an even more interesting program, let us all endeavor to attend and register for our meeting.

Let’s all continue to BE THE INSPIRATION!!!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Amina Sammo
