Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the
Rotary E-Club of One World!
In the spirit of Rotary which binds us together to serve above self for the betterment of humanity and the world, let us share the Rotary Four Way Test of the Things we think, say or do; for which in District 5240 (D5240), a fifth has been added:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concern?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concern?
  5. Is it FUN?

I write this message with mixed feelings of a year I wouldn’t have missed for anything in the world. This is the last official message from me to all of you as your club president for 2018/2019. However, I am happy to announce the obvious which is another Rotary year which ushers in a wonderful woman in the Person of PE Ozlem Kocanaogullari. As I Step Down as your President, we welcome PE Ozlem Kocanaogullari as incoming President and she will formally indoctrinate your new Board.
Serving as President of this illustrious and truly international and majority diverse club this Rotary year 2018/2019 has forced me far outside of my comfort zone and has made a permanent and lasting impression on me as a person and everything I stand for in life. I’d like to thank you all of our club members for willing to try some new things this year. We tried a new schedule, increased the number of projects we involved in and gave back to our various communities.
We increased our numbers by 22 new entrants’ thanks mainly to our Guyana team led by PP Amanda. We lost 12 members, 7 of whom are joining other clubs. We therefore have a net increase in membership of 9. Thus, coming from 55 at the beginning of the Rotary year to the current 64. Even though we lost some wonderful members, I am glad to say that majority of them moved on to other clubs and are still Rotarians. So in the end, Rotary International is still a winner.
We have so much to be proud of!! This has been a successful year in so many ways.
Cheers to each member of The Rotary E-Club of One World!
Cheers to The Rotary E-Club of One World!!
Cheers to District 5240!!!
Cheers to Rotary International!!!!
Let’s celebrate our successes and welcome PE Ozlem and the new Board as they sign their life away for a Roller Coaster Rotary year of 2019/2020 ride.  Here’s to continuing to find new ways to make things better in the year ahead and in the future of our club.
To all the committees that took the pain and time to ensure that their assigned months were actually owned by them, I say Kudos and hope this in the coming year, all of us will get involved in the activities of the club.
In the end, I am the proudest of all to have sailed through the Rotary year with very minor bruises. To all those I impressed, I wish that I could do more and likewise to all those I offended either in words or deeds, I wish to APOLOGIZE PROFUSELY that it was nothing personal and I hope that you will find space in your good hearts to forgive me. I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to serve as a Club President for this great and hugely diverse Club. Thank you all.
District Governor Sandi's Step Down is June 29th and registration has already ended. The venue is going to be spectacular and I can't wait to see if there is a Bathroom Reader or two handed out tomorrow evening. Fortunately, as a club we have qualified for our Avenues of Service awards from the District as well as the Rotary Citation so it was a good year overall. I want to thank all of you in advance for all your hard work and participation. The District Governor’s appreciation as well as mine goes to us all.
To the incoming Team lead by Ozlem, Board Members and each one of us, I say it has been a worthy year to me and I hope that you find even more fulfillment in serving than my team and I could.
Make today and EVERY day ridiculously amazing!
Dare to be EXTRAordinary!!
Let’s all continue to ‘BE THE INSPIRATION’!!!
Even as ‘ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD in 2019/2020’!!!!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Amina Sammo
President 2018-2019
