Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the
Rotary E-Club of One World!

In the spirit of Rotary which binds us together to serve above self for the betterment of humanity and the world, let us share the Rotary Four Way Test of the Things we think, say or do; for which in District 5240 (D5240), a fifth has been added.
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concern?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concern?
  5. Is it FUN?
Even as I step into the huge SHOES of Immediate Past President Michael Henstra who has been gracious enough to serve our club for two consecutive years, I honestly wish to acknowledge the huge task I see ahead. However, I rest assured knowing that I can always count on all our past presidents whose mantles and legacies I am privileged to take up for support and of course I also count on the support of all of our members to enable me stir the affairs of our great club to even make it greater and enviable. We are very different for traditional rotary clubs and if care is not taken, as individual Rotarians we will limit our Rotary membership to dues payment and registering weekly meeting attendance.

As Rotarians, we are “PEOPLE OF ACTION! In the midst of all our elegance, we roll up our sleeves and dig into the gutters to make sure that we leave the world a better place than we met it and that our rotary membership at least made one person better off than before. Let us strive to be ‘ROTARIAN AT WORK’ and let us show the world how better we have become after becoming Rotarians. To achieve this, let us make a pledge to ourselves to undertake at least one project annually and make noise about it on our page by reporting it to encourage all of us to do our bits in our small corner.

To ensure that we are all engaged in our club and to be able to know each other better and help with project ideas, the board has agreed on a Buddy system in which we are put under a directorate and assigned a rotary month to make a difference under the month’s theme on the rotary Calendar. The groupings and assigned months are as follows:

Note: Kindly let me know if I have omitted anyone’s name so that I can assign the name to a group.

We therefore encourage each Directorate / Buddy group to have a leader and two assistants who will be interacting with all group members more frequently than we do as a club to come up with project ideas and to know each other better. Ideally revolving around their month’s theme and share it on our page.

At least three members from each team should be attending Board meeting but only board members will have voting rights.

Next week we will come up with an even more interesting program so let us all endeavor to attend and register for our meeting.

Let’s all continue to BE THE INSPIRATION!!!

Yours in Rotary Service
