Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the
Rotary E-Club of One World!

Dear Fellow OWR Members!

We are all very deeply saddened by the shootings that occurred in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. No matter for what reason, violence never is and never can be the answer to any problem. Exactly as we were discussing of what ways we can contribute to our society to become more tolerant and understanding, these dreadful attacks take place. I would like to offer my condolences to all fellow American OWR members and Rotarians.

As I mentioned at last week’s program, I have aimed to have reached out to all of our members on a one-on-one online meeting within 2-3 weeks’ time. So far, the meetings are going great and I am so very happy to have been able to see and have talked to most of you. I love how we all have our different stories and backgrounds, but Rotary is always the common denominator. Please be on the look-out for further meetings and if I was careless and missed out on you, send me a message on workplace or whatsapp to remind me that we still need to talk.

Speaking of online meetings and get-togethers, last Saturday we had a fellowship assembly attributed specially to introducing the new members. If you haven’t attended to one of the fellowship assembly meetings so far, I strongly urge that you do. Not only do we get a chance to be better acquainted with the other members, but we actually form a really nice, very spontaneous brainstorming session from where a whole lot of new projects may emerge very soon! So stay tuned!

This weekend is the Eid Al-Adha celebration. It is also called the Feast of the Sacrifice and it is celebrated by all the Muslims in the world. This is the second religious holiday in the calendar year. I will spend this holiday season with my mother visiting friends and family in another city. I am looking forward to the trip, the visit and the vacation, but I am dreading the extra weight one always puts on during the holidays. I hope you all get a chance to have fun and relax over the weekend.

Happy “Eid ul-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice)”!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Ozlem Kocanaogullari
