The Four Way Test

President's Message

Ozlem Kocanaogullari
President 2019-2020
Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the Rotary E-Club of One World!

Dear Fellow OWR Members,

I hope that you are well.
We keep hearing news from countries all over the world that the measures taken for COVID-19 are being loosened stage by stage. I know that in my country, senior citizens will be allowed out of the lockdown for only about 4 hours this Sunday to get some fresh air and exercise. Then on Monday, shopping malls will be opened, and hair salons & beauty parlors will admit clients on an appointment basis. I for one am looking forward to that last one, but we must keep in mind that we are not going back to our normal life, we must learn to adapt to a new “normal”. Therefore, please always take your own precautions to protect yourself and those around you.
We are nearing the end of our 2019-2020 term. I have been sending out emails to our members for one-on-one online meeting appointments to properly bid adieu, and hopefully get some feedback from you. Please kindly be on the look-out for these emails. You can always jump ahead and contact me for making an appointment.
Looking forward to seeing all of you again.
Best wishes,

Ozlem Kocanaogullari

President 2019-2020

Zoom Recorded Presentation with our guest speaker
Talia Rogers from the US
Software and System Architect with over 20 years of experience.

To all fellow Rotarians,
Our guest speaker this week is a family member of one of our club members and I could not have been more thrilled to talk to this young lady Talia. She personifies my favorite quote: "when you take your pain and turn it into your greatest strength, you in turn, become the cause's best ally", this is what Talia has done and her cause is to help save one life at a time and to be the difference for others.
She has become an Activist for Harm Reduction, which is a broad term for this approach, it has been around since the 80s when it emerged as a community response to the AIDS crisis. The basic principles are summed up here:  https://harmreduction.org/about-us/principles-of-harm-reduction/
Last but not least, Talia is very knowledgeable and has the heart of a Rotarian!

Thank you,
