The Four Way Test

President's Message

Ken Meyer

President 2020-2021
Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the Rotary E-Club of One World!

Dear members, visitors, and future members of Rotary E-Club of One World:
A big thank you to District Governor Deb Linden for her club visit this month and also to all those that were able to attend and enjoy the enthusiasm for Rotary that DG Deb exudes.  For anyone that was not able to attend, please take the time to listen to Deb’s presentation which has been posted under member announcements in Workplace.  And to you that we're able to attend, consider taking the time to listen again to Deb’s insights.
Here is one of the meaningful messages that Deb shared from Rotary International President Holger Knaack:
In Rotary E-Club of One World, we find that our members are opening doors of opportunities to perform large and small acts of service.  During our meeting with DG Deb Linden, she awarded our past club president and current club treasurer, Michael Henstra, for such acts of service over many years, the People of Action award.  Congratulations and great job Michael!
As our club continues to innovate and engage in Service Above Self, a changing world will mean that we in Rotary E-Club of One World will embrace that change and serve each other and our communities like never before.  In that light, consider one more gem that DG Deb shared with us in her motivational speech to our club:
Thank you, DG Deb, for reminding us that as we move forward in a new Rotary year we can accomplish more and serve more if we can roll with the changes that are needed to improve our ability to effectively serve our communities as People of Action.  As a club, let’s resolve together in this instance to not “hold our breath.”  We can change and do what is needed to be successful.
And finally, let’s remember that we need all hands on deck as People of Action. And this means more Rotarians doing the good work of Rotary.  The month of August is “Membership and New Club Development Month.”  Thanks to our members Gabriella van Rij and José Roberto León for sponsoring new club members this month.  Let’s all follow their examples and find new members to engage with our club and keep the energy flowing!

Today we want to offer a video created by Rotary:
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Rotary -  how are we doing?
To all of our Eclub members and other Rotarians around the world,

The COVID-19 pandemic and anti-racism solidarity demonstrations are calling out global inequities and the need for social justice. It is even more important that Rotary be an organization inclusive of all cultures, experiences, and identities. This breakout session provides an opportunity to hear from Rotarians at the forefront of change, learn about Rotary’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) progress, and be equipped with tools to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable organization.

I hope you will enjoy the video.
Thank you,
