The Four Way Test

President's Message - 7-19-19

Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the
Rotary E-Club of One World!
Dear Fellow Members of OWR,
While we start a new Rotary year and we have new members that join us, I want to remind all of us the importance of taking part in our buddy club activities.
Buddy clubs are the Rotary clubs in your local community area, to whose meetings and activities you can attend. You can take part in the community service projects of such clubs no different than as if you were in fact a member of their own club. This helps to serve in more than a few ways:
  • This will increase your sense of belonging to the Rotary community. We all understand the challenges of being a member of an e-club. But attending physical meetings will increase sense of fellowship and help strengthen our ties.
  • You being present at a buddy club meeting will promote One World Rotary E-Club and help us recruit more members. Obviously there will be questions about our club. They will need more information. You can respond to them and also invite them to explore  Please be sure to remind them that they can always make up there for attendance by visiting our webpage and registering to the meetings.
  • By attending meetings of your buddy club, you can help us find new community service projects, partners for future collaborations, you can even help us pair up for grants. You can also see a program that can be used for our club meetings as well.
I hope you get to enjoy and cherish Rotary while serving, not only with our club members online but with the Rotarians of your local clubs through activities of the buddy clubs.  After all, Rotary Connects the World in more ways than one can imagine!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Ozlem Kocanaogullari
President 2019-2020

Welcome New Member
Dr. Robert A Skankey MD!
Robert would like to introduce herself...
I love life!  That's my motto and I live by it everyday.  I try to learn from the past, plan for the future, but live in the present.
I was raised in San Mateo, California, received a BS from Stanford University, and a Medical Degree from Northwestern University Medical School.  After interning at Los Angeles General Hospital in 1956, I practiced medicine as a general practitioner with my father, for five years in San Bruno, California. It was during this time that I was first active in Rotary for about three years, prior to returning for a four-year Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency at University of California, San Francisco. I subsequently spent the next thirty-five years practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in the beautiful unique town of Ojai, California. During my career I delivered so many babies that I stopped counting at 3500.
Once in practice in Ojai, I joined the Rotary Club of Ojai because of its motto: Service Above Self.  In Rotary, although involved with youth in a number of activities, my main focus was through the Rotary International Service Organization. One year I served as Committee Chair. Most of my medical missions have been accomplished through Rotary.
