PresidentsMessage-03-13-2020

Greetings fellow Rotarians and guests!
Welcome to the Rotary E-Club of One World!

Dear Fellow OWR Members,

I hope you are well.

The coronavirus has proven to become a worldwide epidemic. It is almost everywhere. This is one of those moments where humankind is affected regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, and social-economic background. It is one of those very common moments where we know that we will only overcome this by acting as one regardless of nations and communities. In any case, our lives have been affected in one way or another - seminars, tournaments, concerts, international trips seem to be canceled left and right. Finally, our district has decided to hold the district assembly meeting online, rather than a traditional meeting. This goes a long way to prove how e-clubs are ahead of their time. I do hope that you stay safe and take all precautions as possible.

I assume that you have all been able to see the email that I have sent to all of the members regarding the change of number of meetings. It was nice to receive feedback from some of you. Please note that two meetings a month will not mean that we will see less of you. While we will have meetings on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, we still have the option of attending fellowship meetings on the first Saturdays of the month and Board of Directors meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

I hope this change will be more beneficial for our entire club.

Gabriella has been interviewing some of our members and other guests for bi-monthly meetings. We are also looking forward to your contributions for the two programs of the month. Please contact me or Gabriella should you have something in mind.

I hope you enjoy the program!
Have a nice weekend.

Best wishes,
Ozlem

South Dakota – 38+2 Memorial Ride

Hello, Fellow Rotarians:

Thank you for taking the time to view the following program about the Dakota 38+2 Memorial Ride from the point-of-view of a ride fan and supporter.

The history behind the ride is very sad and difficult.  It makes me uncomfortable whenever I try to explain it.  It is hard for me to talk about it.

The ride itself, however, is a very good thing.  It is very positive and healing.

Its mission of peace reminds me of Rotary's mission to promote peace, goodwill, and friendship among people the world over.

All the best,

Casualene Meyer
