District Governor John Weiss visited the Rotary E-Club of One World this past Saturday, 18 November 2017 via Zoom.  Before his presentation, those in attendance enjoyed visiting with John who is recovering from a recent surgery to remove a tumor on his liver.
John joined the Rotary Club of Morro Bay in 2001 and served as that club’s president in the 2009-2010 Rotary Year.  Following his presidential year, John created and started presenting district membership seminars.  For the past four years, he has served as an instructor on Engaging Members at PETS.
Leading by example, John has personally sponsored more than 50 new members into Rotary which could be some kind of record!
John co-chartered the Rotary Club of Morro Bay Eco, where he served as Charter Club President.  His Rotary club also co-chartered the the Morro Bay High School Interact Club, and the Rotaract Club of Luis Obispo.
John’s life partner is his wife Christine.  She is a Charter Member and current member of the Rotary Club of Morro Bay Eco.  Together John and Christine have 5 adult children Paul, Melissa, Sophia, Stuart and Jessica and they have 3 grandchildren.
John is a working Governor and has retail and professional electronics stores in Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, and Buellton.  John’s father started the company in 1979, and John feels fortunate to have seasoned staff members who have been with the company, or in the industry, for 20 to 30 years to cover for him during his visits.
John likes to keep active.  He plays basketball, golf, and walks in between Rotary functions and club visits, church, family time and work.
John’s visit to our E-Club was his 42nd of the year and he admitted it was the easiest so far.  He visited from his living room and enjoyed interacting with our members in attendance from the U.S. and Canada to West Africa and Italy!
Thank you John for your visit and we all wish you very best!
