Dear Rotary E-Club of One World:
Join me in welcoming two new members to our club!
Ron Block from Newbury Park, California, has joined us. He has been a Rotarian for twenty-four years. He lives in Newbury Park, California. As he joins our club, Ron expects to continue his community service to his neighbors and the world.
Elly Scheepers from the Noord Brabant province of the Netherlands has joined us. She has been a Rotarian for over ten years. By being a member of our club she expects to gain international connections and to participate in our club's focus on world peace.
Take a moment to learn more about Ron and Elly and to welcome them to our club by looking them up on our club Workplace site.
Special thanks to the Membership Director of Rotary E-Club of One World, Richard “One Dollar” Otoo. He leads club efforts to process new member applications. Thank you, One Dollar.
Personally, having just completed the celebration of the U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday, and having reflected on some of the things that I am thankful for, the Rotary E-Club of One World is high on my list of things I am grateful for as it improves and enriches my life. Where else can we be actively engaged in Service Above Self while meeting and making Rotarian friends from all over the globe?
Finally, as I finish this month’s message, I want to remind you that we are finishing up the month of November which is the month we give particular recognition to the blessing that the Rotary Foundation has been in the lives of millions in need of its projects. If you have not yet contributed to the Rotary Foundation this year, consider doing so. According to Rotary published facts on the Rotary Foundation:
“Since 1988, Rotary and its partners have immunized more than 2.5 billion children against polio.”
“In 2018-19, 94 fellows from 43 countries began their studies at the Rotary Peace Centers, and program awards for the fellows and centers totaled $5.0 million.”
“In 2018-19, the Foundation approved 494 district grants, and program awards totaled $26.3 million.”
“In 2018-19, the Foundation approved 1,403 global grants, and program awards totaled $86.6 million.”
We can be proud to be Rotarians. We belong to a great international organization and our blessed to be in the Rotary E-Club of One World that puts the “international” in Rotary.
